Wood description

Wood PLA is a PLA-based composite material that blends standard polylactic acid with fine wood-derived particles. It is primarily used to create a natural appearance and a grainy surface texture. However, added wood particles also lower durability, making it unsuitable for load bearing parts. While print quality can be excellent, the wood filling tends to reduce ductility and impact toughness compared with the standard for PLA or PETG, and heat resistance remains in the typical PLA range. For practical use, it is best suited to light-duty parts that do not see sustained mechanical stress, elevated service temperatures, or prolonged outdoor exposure. Where Wood PLA stands out is post-processing: surfaces can be sanded, coated, and polished to achieve furniture-like tones that are difficult to replicate with unfilled thermoplastics.
